I’ve given up buying these on fleabay - that’s the third one I’ve ordered now that’s turned up faulty despite me asking for them to be tested beforehand. This is now the only place I trust, so If you have one that’s working flawlessly please get in touch. One of the Tascam portastudios would be preferable though I’ll consider other models

I have an old 8 track (Tascam 488 I think?). Hasn't seen the light of day for about 10 years but worked fine when I last used it. I loved that thing! all knobs and sliders. It should be in the loft (unless Mrs A binned it and didn't tell me). I was keeping it to dissect and re-record 4 old instrumentals of mine, but to be honest I can't see that happening.
