Been ages since I properly wrote a song

To be honest for the past 8 months or so, I've not really been doing much music, so this year I just decided that I needed to join a band, playing anything I could. Found something in January, playing bass - which really takes me back to my roots as my first band was a bass player. 

Anyway I find playing music with others so much more inspiring than going it alone. Came up with this bass riff whilst trying to dial in the amp in the rehearsal rooms. Band is a covers band, so decided to work on it at home and after a couple of hours had the full song.

Really pleased with the drumming as I have barely played, it's simple but works.

Done with all guitar and bass sounds from helix. Drums are the Yamaha DT Xpress 4 into NI Session Drummer. Does a job.

Funkfingers

Verses have a sort of David Byrne feel then there is that Thin Lizzy type riff between. Interesting. Might work with horn stabs. Would certainly work in a Rory Gallagher stylee.
