Offered for sale as on cash raiser to pay for a layaway vintage amp that has an amount still outstanding..

That is indeed utterly gorgeous. I feel I’ve been very prejudiced against the Players Editions. For years I’ve loved Gretschs and also bemoaned that they don’t arrive working properly and need so much set up work and tinkering to stay in tune and play well. Then Gretsch makes a version of all the classic lines that addresses those issues and because they didn’t do it the way I always have, I got snobby and turned my nose up.

..some notes - the rosewood was quite dry on arrival. A good oiling with some fretboard conditioner brought up this natural dark colour.

The factory setup left a little to be desired, however this was very quickly and easily adjusted and now she plays like a dream. Acoustically loud and 'alive'; incredible plugged in, a bit special really - if I find a way to keep her I definitely will...

..I'm about to list a Malcolm Young 6131SMY single pickup in red if anyone is sufficiently interested for a similar price - personally I'd rather hold onto this one

Alas, I could only do this via trades right now, and that’s not what you’re looking for.
