Technical Lpad question

Hi - some years back a chap who I have lost touch with (electronics background bloke) built me an Lpad attenuator. It was for a Chubster which was 40watts into an 8 ohm speaker. My question is - could I use it safely in a 12w tweed deluxe into an 8 ohm speaker?
Here's a pic, the resistors 68 19 1 and 10 ohms respectively, going from bottom to top. Any thoughts? Thanks!

If it worked at 40 watts should have no problem at 12
