Great explanation video for Diminished 7th Chords

There have been previous discussion on this forum regarding the lesser-used diminished 7th chords, but they have been mostly limited to voicings and their moveability.

Thanks for that, much appreciated. It was hearing a diminished 7th in blues that started me on a tentative jazz trail, so I'm not sure whether to love it or hate it! It's probably fair to say that I love it, but anyone that hears me play hates it.

The fellas website is called 'fretjam'.  Lots of excellent videos, around 15 minutes in length to pick and choose from.

Useful to understand the relationship between dim 7 and dom 7 chords. Flatten any note in a dim 7 by a semitone and you get a Dom 7. So a dim 7 can generate four different Dom 7 chords.

If you start at the first fret and play it chromatically up to the 6th fret you get the intro to Ghost Town by the specials
