that'll be a lonely week on my own doing the blues course.

course material now arrived.  I'm quite excited in a middle aged sort of way - and of course lonely sort of way as it looks like I'll be billy no mates as no one else is coming

I'm not going but I think that sort of thing is cool. Learning new stuff beyond the teens or early 20s that's not work related is a hard thing to do, so I applaud you.

You'll be happy you took the course I suspect :-)

I'd love to be going - I've done IGF and IGF residential stuff before it's great - who's the teachers?

I didn't even realise it was going on, just sent an email off to see if they need any crew as I used to be a tech at the Bath one and they were a blast!

@frankus - I'm lucky as Jason Sidwell lives 2 minutes away from me and has started to teach an old dog how to play properly

the teacher on the blues course is Gianluca Corona.  I suspect that he might be Italian.

I went to one IGF thing with Jason - he's an awesome funkateer and did the article on Ronny Jordan (and namechecked me in an article once a long time ago :^) a top chap.

Gianluca has written for Guitar Techniques IIRC

jealous - I could do with some immersive guitar therapy!

Looks like I'm now lead technician for the whole event ( ) so if you're going, do say hi to the stressed-out dreadlocked bloke carrying speakers around!

@IanSavage - I did.  we both had had a pint (or two).  repeated when sober!!!!!

good week I thought.  

I'd go again.  I didn't improve much in a week, which is to be expected but I've got the next 12 months of practice mapped out!!

@frankus - Gianluca is a top chap.  very tastful, but also a guitar ninja (Jason's words).

I think immersive guitar therapy is a perfect way to put it.  it is interesting being in the same place as so many talented people (teachers and students alike) and everyone was really friendly and supportive

the only debate is which course to take next year

I'm gonna start putting away some money each week with the intention of going next week. Well, either the IGF or the Sorefingers thing.

didn't know about the sorefingers thing - bluegrass eh?  that'll keep the right hand active

yup, bluegrass and the like. Will have to see what's on for the IGF next year.
