SOUTH WALES - Big Up for Anthony at TubeDistinctions who is based in South Wales (Hengoed to be precise). He has totally transformed my Bogner, fixed the clicking and gave it a check over and replaced/rebiased power amp valves. Even went as far as checking each preamp valve for correct operating range. This guy is also the Voodoo amp Mod agent for EU so knows his stuff inside out. Site look slike a Hi-Fi buff, but he's an avid guitar player too, we talked for a good 45 minutes about gear!!

Finally found a decent tech on this side of the Severn Bridge
    :D
    +1

Top bloke, great amp tech and builder. He's serviced some *very* famous guitarists' amps, but he's not allowed to tell you about that ;-)
    I think, therefore.... I... ummmm........

Anyone know a decent amp tech near Belfast? I've used Lief Bodnarchuck in Larne before and he was great (service and cap job on my 70s Orange) but he said at the time he doesn't really take on much work these days with family etc.

Hi, 1st post but hopefully nonetheless valid. Dave at Rosewell Amps, Doncaster, Yorkshire is great. http://www.rosewell-amps.co.uk Had a load of amps to him & the most reasonable service costs I've found anywhere. He's modded two Budda SuperDrives for me as well as servicing my father-in-laws hifi valve amp. I swear they all come back sounding much better. Very talented man, friendly, accommodating and he also makes amps too. Cheers Andy

Any one have some experience of amp techs around Norwich/Norfolk way? Cheers
    Hi Nick

I couldn't find anyone I was happy with in the Norwich area (I live near GY), so I travel to a chap in Houghton Regis near Luton. He's brilliant and cheap, so for me it's worth the journey!

    Ben

Paul Glazebrook (Ipswich) might be closer. Nice guy, does a good job.

Can't believe no-one has mentioned Martin Garton of Gartone Amps for Manchester and the North West, fantastic work and a real gent.  Bought my '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb from him... and if it's good enough for Johnny Marr...
    He's on 07796 682530

any one who will fix laney amps near tamworth?

@chuckieegg I was looking for something else and spotted this question. Not quite in Tamworth but not a million miles away you could try MAJ in Kingswinford ( recommended elsewhere on this Discussion) who are Laney specialists or Trevor at Tipton Amps ( who has some kind of arrangement with MAJ anyway I think as he is on YouTube demoing MAJ's own design amps).
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

Another shout for Dave Gasgoine at Rosewell Amps South Yorks, He did a fantastic job restoring my Brownface Fender Super, also serviced my vintage Marshall JMP 50watt head and a 70's Vibro Champ both came back sounding fantastic.

He makes some very nice fender tweed inspired amps too.

Thanks Martin I appreciate it. I'm getting a lot more hum then I think I should be when cranking the tone knob up past 3 o'clock on my roadstar. Its a problem that's only recently started, but I'll do some more testing tomorrow night

In the Cambridge/Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire area you can try Peter Hamstead at Hamstead Soundworks (http://www.hamsteadsoundworks.com) for your electronics.

They repair amps/pedals/pedalboards and also even have their own line of amps. I discovered them by accident last year and I've put all my work their way since then.
