Welcome good people of The Fretboard!

This is a new challenge running alongside the normal FB Challenge. This challenge is being run by @TTony and myself @Antique_Guitars

SIMPLE RULES!          NO BULLSHIT!               NO PRIZES!            NO YOUTUBE!         LOTS OF FUN!

Challenge opens today (1st August 2014) and closes on the 24th of August, for full rules see below.

Rules:

WRITE GUITAR RIFFS! (you can include whatever else you want in the mix but the riff must be the main focus)

No longer than 30 seconds of audio! this is about riffs not songs

Challenge opens on the 1st of every month

Challenge closes on the 24th of every month

Voting opens on the 25th of every month

Voting closes and winner announced on the last day of every month

Send your audio tracks to riffs@thefb.co.uk, the tracks will then be uploaded to the official FB soundcloud account (not the FB Challenge account). You can include a funky picture with your submission if you like.

As there are no prizes for these competitions we will probably upload the riffs as and when they are sent to us.

I am DEFINITELY in for this one.... 

I'm glad we have two months, though (right?) because I'm away for practically all of August. Hell, if I miss the competition, I'm still in!

Now..... I need to sort out how to record as I haven't done it for an aaaaage. Tempted to get Traktion on my girlfriend's computer but honestly... I think I'll just go through my amp if I can!

This is just the riff challenge that runs every month, if you are away you can just enter Septembers instead. The challenge that runs for two months is the main challenge and #4 has just been posted in this section.

What's more, I have a drum beat that goes with it. All I need to do now is record the thing.

Sent mine also, just guitar nothing else. Hope the quality is okay I couldn't get a clean signal for a while (used a boss BR600).

Think I'm going to give up on the drums and just upload my riff naked, urgh!  I can jam a riff to drums but I don't seem to be able to do drums myself that fit the riff.  Maybe to timings weird or maybe it's just plain wrong..
