Wavosaur question

I got a track from a friend and converted it to mp3 and imported it into wavosaur, I then recorded something on my phone and opened it in the same wavosaur session and cut it and pasted it into the other track. For some reason my recording is double the speed of my friends one, is there anything I an do about that? Or should I just try and record my extra bit into wavosaur rather than opening it there?

is wavosaur the only program you have?
for multitracking you are almost certainly better off with a full daw like reaper (can use trial version for free for ever)
is more complicate to figure out initially but all tracks laid out for multitracking.

also you converted from what into mp3? could you not import it from its original format rather than compress to mp3, then probably convertd to wav in wavosaur.

what format is the phone recording? it may be at a different sample rate to the other one and that could account for the speed change.
if phone recorded at 22.5 and the other was at 44.1, for example
