IPad for live use guitar rig ?

I am nipping down to the Falklands for a week soon and was gonna take my guitar, but no way am I gonna be able to take amps or effects boxes etc, so was wondering about taking IPad and using it direct to PA if I get a chance to jam with anyone down there. Any thoughts ?

I for one would be interested to hear how it goes.  Never tried it but thought about it.

For practising I've used mine and there are tons of apps that are handy but I suspect for a jam straight to PA a pockpod or similar might be an easier solution.

another vote for a pocket POD? Not the best live sound, but you can also use it with headphones.
