Hi all, my name is Gronw (I'll let you figure out how to pronounce that for you selves!) and I live in North Wales. I'm 41 years old and I work as a cinema projectionist.

Q1: Wade Garrett is a character from the ultra cheesey but highly enjoyable 80's film Roadhouse. I had a mate back then who thought Wade Garrett was the coolest dude to walk the earth, the character was a grizzly old bouncer. That memory has stuck with me over the years, it just makes me smile for some reason.

Q2: I live in a village near the city of Bangor in North Wales in the UK.

Q3: I'm pretty lucky to have done a lot of the things I always wanted to when it comes to music because I was a professional musician for 11 years and semi pro for 13 before that. These days I'm happy with playing the occasional gig....and maybe someday be able to play that mental classical piece from the end of the film Crossroads....like Eugene plays it and not Jack Butler, like I play it at the moment!

Q4: Er...that's hard! I bought an EVH RBW Striped Series recently I'm quite fond of.

Q5: This questions even worse than the last one, lol! I'm going to say Still Of The Night by Whitesnake because it is probably the track that really started my musical journey more than any other.

Afternoon all! Should have posted in here first, but better late than never I guess! I'm Steve, mid-30s, been playing since I was a kid, gigged a bit when I was younger but these days it's really just playing at home and the odd party, so purely for fun. Answers to the mandatory questions:

Q1:  First name Stephen, which my big sisters 'shortened' to Step Hen when i was a kid. Very imaginative. So imaginative it became my email and forum username.

Q2:  I'm in London, UK - originally from the West Midlands but I've been down here almost 15 years now.

Q3:  At the start of the year, I promised myself I'd write a song I don't cringe at. I haven't made much progress yet.

Q4:  Probably the ES-335 I just picked up is the 'best', but my fav is the Takamine acoustic I got as a 21st birthday present. It's not posh, but it really feels like an old friend.

Q5:  Johnny B Goode - I love rock n roll and this was a massive favourite since I started playing.

    Cheers!

Hello,  I've just joined the forum.     I was recommended to come here by an existing member.

Some may recognise my username from some other similar forums.

    Age: 40.

I'm originally from south-east England, but have lived in the East Midlands since 2000.

I am especially interested in effects pedals.  I currently own quite a lot pedals; they seem to be breeding again of late.

I have quite a few guitars at present.  I seem to like quirky ones. I've never spend more than £400 on any guitar.

My first electric guitar:  a Hohner Professional SE35  (ES-335 style), made in Korea, bought new in circa 1991 for over £300.

    My first fx pedal: Ibanez WF-10 wah/fuzz. c. 1992.

I've recently got into modifying electric guitars.
I have several projects ongoing at present, including modifying a £15 pre-owned Disney Hannah Montana 3/4 size electric guitar into a guitar-sitar. :p

    My favourite group;  Spacemen 3.
