When he played for Derby he lived in my town, Ashbourne- He played cricket for the local village team where my 2 best mates played - My mum and dad made an offer to buy his house but it all fell through as/when a pending transfer deal didn’t go through

Crikey- I played a couple of games (cricket) for Shropshire over the years against Wales - both at Gorseinon (shit hole) and at Abergavenny (magnificent) and Leighton came to both as a spectator and keen cricketer himself. Charming man, came and spoke to us whilst we were there.
