Retaining theory resources that you'll probably never use..?

I culled 4 or so years of Guitar Techniques magazines down to articles I figured might be of use in the future.

Delving thru the 3 folders the other day I see many lessons on melodic minor, superlocrian, navigating II V I (minor and major) and techniques that do not feature in music I play and wondered at what point I'll ever find a use for this stuff.
It's highly unlikely I'll be joining a jazz trio any time in the future. I've realised sweeps and tapping are unlikely to feature in my playing in my lifetime.

And yet I can't bring myself to recycle.
Anyone have the same reluctance / hoarding of info unlikely to be of use?

    Yes.

My sister once helped a friend clear out her granny’s house and there was a jam jar with a label which said “bits of string, too short to be of any use”.
Roland said: Scales are primarily a tool for categorising knowledge, not a rule for what can or cannot be played.
Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.
