Hey everyone welcome to our new RAW RotM Challenge!

This is the 1st RAW Riff of the Month (RotM) Challenge, being run by @Antique_Guitars and @TTony.

RAW is different to the other riff challenge because you are only allowed to submit recordings with one layer of guitar and no other sounds, this is all about one amazing riff and nothing else.

The challenge is now open, and remains open for submissions until 24th March.

All you have to do is ...

• Write a single guitar riff. 
  
• Keep it to a maximum of 50 seconds.
  
• Challenge opens on the 1st of every month, and closes on the 24th of the month.
• Voting opens on the 25th of the month, and closes on the last day of the month, when the winner will be announced.

The tracks will be uploaded to our SoundCloud account and saved in a playlist that will be linked below

Only guitar or just single instrument? Like would a bass riff be ok? Vocal hook stretching it?

Bass riffs should be allowed, definitely.

Single guitar or single bass is allowed.

I want to here some slap bass solo!

Anything that is more than one instrument needs to be entered into the other RotM.

Recorded on my Samsung Ace.

Westfield Les Paul into a Boss DD7 on Modulation setting into the clean channel of a Peavey Bandit 112.

Then on with an ENO OCD clone then on with a Toyroom FX Fuzz. A one-take wonder with zero defects overdubs.

@mrchi Just sent mine. Recorded with: HB modded TE-30 'carbotele' from Fretboard HB modding challenge thru 10w orange amp captured with Audio Evolution on Android Tablet (Hudl 2) using built in mic. Feeling lazy today, plus lo-fi is my thing. Enjoy and good luck to everyone. Will now get to work on Rotm 8.
