So we are trying something a bit new tomorrow night ahead of our show at O2 Arena on Sunday at C2C2015.

We are doing a Stageit show - basically like a skype gig I suppose, from our rehearsal space.

People can pay, or not, up to them, it's a pay what you think it is worth kind of model - a nice feature is that you can start off for free and then tip if you think it's any good.
We have a go at explaining it: HERE

Pretty busy after that: Live dates

Anyway, tomorrow - be nice if some of you can make it if poss, interested to see where this kind of model goes in the future.

Well that was a lot of fun - weird not getting a crowd reaction other than them using an IM system to get in touch like old school msn messenger, but really enjoyed it. A strange 63/37 per cent split with the host site on ticket sales AND tips (was expecting the split on ticket sales, but not the tipping part) still left us with a lot more money than one of our normal shows and it gets stuck through the paypal system within a week.
    All in all, DEF recommend.

That's tricky to say - 25 tickets sold, but you have no idea how many people are watching on a screen...

I've been wondering about doing one of these for a while , Looking at similar service  Concert Window as well.

Mainly interested in the tech angle of these , and if they're suitable for a band ( with drums!)

I think you would need to mix it into an interface for drums. especially in a small room - we went out acoustic and had someone riding the gain input on the software to make sure we didn't clip.

I would assume that the hit percentage of poeople who pay would be quite small, so thats potentially a pretty decent audience.

And you can set it to pay what you want, or a specific ticket price. So last night one person paid 23 quid to watch us. Another paid 7p. He knows who he is. 7p.

How do you even decide on 7p as a figure...I'd like to know the thought process that helps you arrive at 7p.

Pretty straightforward - the system makes you buy a kind of credit they call notes. Currently 5 dollars = 50 notes. He bought 50 notes and decided we were worth 1 note - about 10 cents. After conversion about 7p...

At least he paid something when under no obligation to. Maybe he's used his other 49 up, is skint and wanted to give you something?
