Chord Of The Week 28/3/15 - Fmmaj7

bigjonbigjon Frets: 680
We haven't done Fm or Fm7 because it doesn't use any open strings, but its jazzier cousin Fmmaj7 contains an E, so we can use the open top E string.
Formula is 1 b3 5 7, so in F we have the notes F Ab C E, which is xx3110. That works fine as the chord on its own, but if you want a fuller sound and are prepared to stretch a few tendons you can play the full six-string version, using the thumb on the 6th string.

Fmmaj7: 133110

And since the top note of the voicing is provided for free, we can move through the CAGED shapes up the neck, starting in the lowest position with the E-shape -

Fmmaj7: 133110 (E shape)
Fmmaj7: xx3550 (D shape, not satisfactory as it doubles the 7th and omits the b3)
Fmmaj7: x86550 (C shape, also doubles the 7th but the b3 is back)
Fmmaj7: x 8 10 9 9 0 (A shape, now the 7th is doubled on the 3rd string instead of the 2nd string)
Fmmaj7: 13 11 10 x 9 0 (G shape, need to mute the 3rd string with the underside of the second finger)

What other Fmmaj7 chords using the open top E string can you come up with?
