PURGE III

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING

For those that don’t know, Cleggy and I build stompboxes. Over the years our respective stashes of them have got out of control. So we’ve decided to go through them, keep only 20 or so each, and put the rest in a central ‘demo’ stash for people to try. All the pedals in this listing are surplus duplicates from this re-organisation.

All the pedals run on a standard Boss style (centre ground, outer 9V DC) power supply. None of them have battery provision as we don’t use them.

Where pedals are described as clones that is within part tolerance and accuracy of the schematics. Where we have modified them from that I will detail it.

If you wish to see gut shots, they’re on my main site with the build reports for the pedals. Everything I’ve ever built is in there and there’s more detailed info on the pedals there also: http://stompage.juansolo.co.uk

Delivery in the UK will be 2nd class signed for and will be £5 (I’ve had to buy a tonne of boxes and bubble also so that’s in the P&P). For multiples, if I can get it in a small parcel and under the PO weight limit, It’ll still be £5. For anywhere outside the UK please contact for costs, but it’s usually around £10 or so.

Payment is preferably by bank transfer (if you’ve got online banking it’s usually down as Pay Another Person), or PayPal gift

There are 47 to go and I’ve taken pics of all of them in their current condition, so give the page to load. I’ve centralized everything on The Fretboard because this would be chaos to keep track of on multiple forums.

So it begins...

UPDATE

Everything must go. All remaining pedals prices dropped

    MXR117 Flanger Clone

Condition – 4 – Decal has some odd colours going on (it was when my printer was being a bit of an arse), but otherwise excellent.

    Cost - SOLD

    Pic

    OD820 Clone

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £40 - SOLD

    Pic

    ADA Flanger Clone

    Condition – 4.5 – It’s etched so has a few light marks

    Cost - £100 - SOLD

This one was made by LaceSensor on the Madbean forum. The one Cleggy made has ended up in the stash so mine has to go (we’re being brutal). This is a superb clone and worth every penny IMO.

    Pic

    Alice 1 Multi Effect

Condition – 4.5 – Near excellent, only marking it down because it’s old

    Cost - £65 - SOLD

My first multi. I kept it for posterity, but the stash is too big to be sentimental now. It’s all vero inside, but still neat considering. It’s got an UglyFace with LFO, into a EA Tremolo, into a Rebote delay.

    Pic

    Baby Boob Tube

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £65 - WITHDRAWN

Tube boost. Sounds great on the front of a single channel amp where it’ll behave sort of like another channel. Circuit is based on a bit of a Vox. But don’t assume it’ll make your amp sound Voxy because of that. It’s a quite powerful tube boost.

    Pic

    Black 65 clone

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £55 - SOLD

    Blue Monster

    Condition – 4 – Very faded decal

    Cost - £45

This is a very unique dual channel OD/Distortion designed by Bengt Vallhagen. It’s a little noisy by nature. But has some great sounds.

    http://juansolo.co.uk/misc/PurgeIII/boobtube.jpg

    Boob Tube

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £60

Mini version of the original. Built on Thomas’ board in a surprisingly small enclosure. Tube OD of awesomeness.

    Pic

    Discrete Cake

Condition – 4.5 – Weird reaction with the vinyl decal and the Envirotex. It’s a bit bubbly, but I quite liked the effect

    Cost - £40 - SOLD

An interesting take on a Hotcake using a discrete op-amp. Has that flavor, but is a little bit different and cool. It was an experiment by Jason (Jubal81)

    Pic

    Clone Theory Clone

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £50 - SOLD

It’s a bit noisy, but again, that’s the nature of the beast.

    http://juansolo.co.uk/misc/PurgeIII/cyberbird.jpg

    Tweed 57 clone

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £50

    http://juansolo.co.uk/misc/PurgeIII/dirty.jpg

    ? Lady clone

Condition – 3.5 – Decal isn’t so great (lines), bit of lifting.

    Cost - £30

An approximation of a ? Lady using different transistors.

    Pic

    DLS clone

Condition – 4.5 – Flow marks in the Envirotex

    Cost - £40 - SOLD

    Pic

    Tight Metal/’heavy’ Rock clone

Condition – 5ish – Mint with build errors (see below)

    Cost - £70 - SOLD

Oh I ballsed this build up a bit ;) Nothing I didn’t recover from, but you’ll notice the in/outs on the side are plugged and they’re actually on the top. Yeah, my fault. See the site for more details.

The pedal is a Tight Metal clone with a switchable Tight Rock. But because of the shared components, it’s more of a tight heavy rock. Still sounds cool as hell though. 1up/2up switches between them. Fight is tight ;)

    Pic

    Echobase

Condition – 4 – Quite a bit of lacquer crazing

    Cost - £40 - SOLD

Cool echo machine. Switch on the side is a kill-dry and it’s got tails. The downside to this is that if you kill dry and stomp it off, it goes silent. Probably shouldn’t have fitted it, but you can get some weird spacey shit out of it with it so I kinda had to have it. Leave the kill dry off and it works just fine. Obv, not a true bypass pedal this one.

    Pic

Maestro Filter, Sample & Hold clone

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £55 - SOLD

Great filter, or you can get your Zappa on with the S&H

    http://juansolo.co.uk/misc/PurgeIII/fu.jpg

    Modded Electra Distortion

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £35

Basically a cut down Les Lius clone

    Pic

    Half a Double Sound Fuzz

Condition – 4 – Paint and lacquer finish, some chips in the paint

    Cost - £35 - SOLD

    Pic

    Jon Patton’s Harmonic Tremolo

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £45 - SOLD

There’s a trimmer inside with wave on it. Should probably have been a knob, but you can adjust that to taste (as I have done).

    Hydra Prototype (Dual OD)

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £60 - SOLD

    Pic

    Causality 4 Phaser

Condition – 2.5 – Scruffy as hell, probably a mess inside too

    Cost - £25 - SOLD

    All glory to the Hypnotoad!

Winks at you when off, goes full hypno when on. Yeah, a lot about this one is a bit iffy, but it’s still cool as hell.

    Pic

    Modded Dr Boogey

Condition – 3 – Scruffy, fair few paint chips

    Cost - £35 - SOLD

Modded our way, makes it a lot more versatile.

    http://juansolo.co.uk/misc/PurgeIII/mecha.jpg

    Tourbillon Phaser

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £35

Mad/unique optical phaser. Sounds quite vocal on some setting, doesn’t work at all on others. Get it in it’s sweet spot though and it’s awesome.

    Pic

    ‘Mini’ Doppelganger clone(ish)

Condition – 4.5 – Weird discolouration on the right hand side (see pic).

    Cost - £80 - SOLD

This is a smaller Doppelganger. It doesn’t have the expression jacks, but is otherwise full featured. It’s got different depth pots and LDRs that make it sound a little different to standard because we preferred it this way.

    Pic

    Reezafratzitz clone

    Condition – 5 – Excellent

    Cost - £55 - SOLD

A little noisy. Again, it’s the nature of the beast.

    http://juansolo.co.uk/misc/PurgeIII/mood.jpg

    Moodring (delayed reverb)

Condition – 5 – Excellent. Though the pic does lack definition.

    Cost - £55

    Multiplex

Conditition – 4.5 – Decal faded quite badly/hard to read

    Cost - £55 - SOLD

Modded with deep blue style filtering and the stretchy tape function is more sensitive than standard.

    Pic

    Murder One Amplifier

    Condition – 4 – Very good

    Cost - £65 - SOLD

Tiny guitar amp. Maybe 1/2 a watt or less. This one is the only thing on the list that needs a 12v power supply. Same deal with the polarity though (centre ground). Built by Rick Holt, not one of mine.

    Cost - £35 - SOLD

    Dirty valve distortion.

    My favourite tremolo by far

You have too many to pick just one.  Once these are gone will there never be anymore like them built again?

Quite a lot of them are one (well two)-offs never to be done again, some can be. depends on the pedal.

Hypno is provisional already for someone. It's all getting a little hectic over on Facebook... I think I should have maybe staggered the pimping of the thread somewhat!

Quadravibe is a proper optical (as in bulb) driven trem. So it's got a really smooth amp-like quality about it. It's actually based a bit on the univibe, but I much prefer it to the univibe. Has it's own thing going on.
