My DD-20 Ambient setting

You don't need multiple delays and reverbs to get an ambient sound! The only effect on here is my DD-20 and some compression. The swells at the end were done with my guitar volume pot. 

Mode: Modulate (Rate 60, Depth: 100)

Delay time: 270ms

Tone: Minimum (this is key to getting the delay out of the way of your playing)

Effect level: Maximum (could probably turn this down a touch)

Feedback: About 2:30 (clock time)

I really liked it. 

I have a fair few delays, including the DD-20.  I use most of them more than the DD-20 but every time I think of selling I find myself struggling to think of a better versatile delay.  It goes on and off my board more often than any other pedal but it really is a great Swiss army style delay.  It's a great ambient tool.

Works for me! I tend to add a little reverb after my delays just soften the attack and add to the wash.

Where was the compressor in the chain?

@randomhandclaps I know what you mean. I thought I wanted more unique tape machine style echoes so I got an Alter Ego X4. And while it sounds interesting, I have relegated it to the spare pedals pile because the Boss sounds just as good and has functions that the TC doesn't have (i.e. 1/8th note tap division and adjustable modulation).

@shark_eyes I have a reverb on the board that is usually on when I do ambient but I had it off for the purposes of showing off what the DD-20 can do. I have an always on love squeeze before the delay and I added some compression to the processing of the clip because I was very inattentive to levels when I recorded and as a result, the picked parts were louder than the swells. Thanks for the reply!
