Chord Of The Week 17/10/15 - The Crowded House 'Don't Dream It's Over' Eb7sus4 chord

I'm continuing our series of cool chords from unfashionable bands: this week, Crowded House's Don't Dream It's Over!

The main chord in the riff is an Eb5add9 x68866 identical to the chord we looked at 2 weeks ago played 5 frets up.

But it's the second chord in the riff that particularly catches my ear. It's a Vm7 chord in the key of Eb, so Bbm7, but the Eb continues as the bass note, so it sounds to me like a Bbm7/Eb, but considered in isolation it is an

Eb7sus4: x68696

Notice how in common with both the chords from the last two weeks there is no 3rd or 6th interval between one note and the next in the chord, I think that's what makes these chords ear-catching.

The chord is played at 0:06, but I don't see Neil Finn's fingers move to play it! Perhaps an overdub fixed in the DVD edit?

Touch of pedantry here, but the Eb7sus4 is the third chord - you've missed one in between.

Just looking at the chord names it make a lot of logical sense as a sequence.  Thanks for the analysis, it's a lovely song on every level.
