It cured my fascination for Bigsby trems. If you even farted in the general direction of the arm, it would spring out of tune like it was possessed. I could demonstrate that the arm physically returned to a different place each time it was either depressed or pulled. So I swapped the boat anchor Bigsby out for a new one (proper US made)... it was better but not exactly stable. It also made the guitar absurbly heavy and as mentioned above the double bound body can be a little harsh on the ribs... Plus that great big lump of alloy gets in the way of the controls.
I ended up swapping mine for a non-trem '62 custom - and it was a MUCH better guitar IMHO.
Bear in mind that my playing style is based on trem use - Strats or Jag/Jazzmaster trems mainly - for gentle shimmers and I adore Telecasters. I just didn't like mine...
you can regret it later, while playing it !
