FS: Lovely King of Tone clone - just built.

Just finished this lovely clone. Don't really have space for it on my board though, but am very tempted to keep it. 

Anyway, here's a great quick and much cheaper way to try a KOT if you don't fancy the wait list, or paying £300 for one second hand ...

Fully true bypass. Wired one side low gain, the other high. DIP switches inside to change the clipping options for more/less gain. 

ICs are socketed so you can try different dual opamps in there. - 4558 are in at the moment.

Trimmers are to set presence level.

Jumper and internal charge pump included so you can run at 18v for more distortion or 9v for more gain, all from a standard 9v supply.

Sounds awesome, as you'd expect. Very versatile pedal.

£125 for this, treat yourself for Christmas!

I might be interested in one in the new year. How close to an original is it? Same circuit?

I have to confess I've never played through an original. This sounds spot on from the demo videos I've watched of the original though.

So its the same circuit , but actually a little more versatile - the original doesn't have the option for a charge pump on there to boost to 18v.

I've built this same circuit before, and I've had an original too. It's bob on as far as I'm concerned.

I played a friend's clone once (not sure which layout/circuit) while I had my original and that particular clone was noticeably brighter, but iirc the circuit has a presence trimmer right? so it could have been that.

This looks to be impeccably built. 

If for the sake of argument I wasn't keen on metallic orange what are my options? :-)

Anything you like within reason ... that's actually bronze/gold coloured - must be the bad colour rendition of my phone camera

@citizen68 drop me a message. I'm doing some random one off orders and builds at the moment. Holding off doing the next run of flux capacitors until April so they go on the next tax year. :-)
