NGD x 2

Just acquired these...

First is an early-'60's Hofner Artist bass - needs a neck pickup and a bit of fettling, but it perfectly mateches my Colorama from the same period.

Next is a '70's Jedson LP copy. I owned one of these way back and it lived with me through many an early punk band - always regretted selling it (some time in 1985, I think). This one has received new pickups and knobs at some point (and the pickguard has gone walkabout). Nevertheless, it plays great and came with a Hiscox case.

I used to have  a Hofner bass like that one. I sold it to Johnny Roudhouse in Manchester with a load of other stuff when we were buying a PA for Rhino Charge.
I haven't seen a Jedson that looked that good ever, in my memory they were real dogs.
    Don't touch that dial.

  • The Jedson I owned was identical (apart from the swapped-out parts) and played great. Since then, I have seen/played cheaper Jedson variants (usually black LP's) which were nowhere near as good.

You've got some great weird and wonderful stuff there Harry.

That's the sort of museum I'd like to look around.
