  • Great competition this. I really enjoyed listening to everyone's different approach and changed my mind several times before settling on my top three.

5 Points @rash - Great tone and licks... perfect over that track. Smokey.

3 Points @Teetonetal - For masterful use of the vibe and a great recorded tone.

1 Point @Markv - For his smooth Nashville lines (yes I will try to steal them).

Happy New Year guys. Can't wait to see what next months theme is now.

Here's my votes folks. Enjoyed taking part so must also do my bit and vote

    5 Points @Teetonetal
    3 Points @Electrodan
    1 Point @Rash

These three caught my attention the most and it was hard to separate second and third.

@teetonetal just stood out as sounding the most tasteful and more accomplished playing. But, you nearly lost me with the effect halfway through. I much preferred the original guitar tone. I hope you don't mind me saying!

Overall great playing by everyone - hopefully I'll pick up some tips! ;)

I know these things are probably a pain in the arse to admin so thanks for running them.

I can't comment on skills or anything sorry so just what I think was the best to listen to.

    5 points: @Electrodan ;
    3 points: @Markv
1 point @Abo just because it was so different

Some amazing ones wish I had the experience to choose based on knowledge.

It's funny you should say that, as I was trying to do just the opposite... Turn off the guitarist, analytic ear and just see to what spoke to me. It wasn't easy either as some were very different but equally as good.

Thanks to all who have awarded points. I'm glad you enjoyed the solo.

    :)

Plenty of good entries, all of them had good points and I had a hard time making a choice.

5 points @Cabicular - Carlton-esque opening, really liked it. A bit over-excited towards the end I thought (although tbh I wish I could play like that!)
3 points @rash - good balance of feel, pace, interest and note choice. Liked the tone too although I thought it had a touch too much reverb.
1 point @ElectroDan - great playing and fitted well with the backing

Also thanks all for the votes and positive comments!

Gosh these are all very good! Tough choice, so I'm going to base it on the tones that appealed to me the most:

    5pts: @rash
