SOLO of the Month #12 - Chat

This is the 12th SOLO of the Month (SotM) Challenge, being run by @Antique_Guitars and @TTony.

The idea is that we give you a new backing track to solo over every month, the backing track will be a maximum of 1.5mins long and you will have to download the track from soundcloud and record your solo over the top of it and then submit it to us.

The challenge is now open, and remains open for submissions until 24th February.

All you have to do is ...

• Download the backing track and record you solo over the top of it.
  
• Challenge opens on the 1st of every month, and closes on the 24th of the month.
• Voting opens on the 25th of the month, and closes on the last day of the month, when the winner will be announced.

So those dive bombs were you being tasteful and holding back. Well I now have great expectations for this months efforts. You have to go all out. Hell, take my 5 points now

I like the sound of it but not sure why it counts as "psychedelic"? Seems to me it could lend itself to all sorts of styles. Maybe all in one solo ...

I thought the theme was a loose guide as to what type of solo we were supposed to put on there. Of course there is no harm in doing something completely different, or even picking up speeding tickets.

I suppose the difficult thing this month will be maintaining interest, as the backing stays the same throughout.

I'm listening at the moment waiting for ideas to jump out.

I'm looking forward to hearing you tear it up!

I haven't decided where I'm going with mine yet, although a few ideas are rattling around.

I've had a go. Hopefully I've submitted it correctly, having not done this before.

Look forward to hearing it. We could do with more players getting involved.

I've finally cleared a lot of time so hopefully going to be able to start getting involved in the challenges.  Used to love the guitarist collective for getting me out of ruts, hoping this will do the same.  Not expecting to measure up against the majority of folk on here but be good to flex the brain.  Will have a download and play tonight all being well.

Go to the fretboard page on the sound cloud site and the download link will be underneath the backing track. Still hoping to get something submitted this month if I can steal an hour some evening.

Safari on a mac, I ain't seeing it!!!

It's there. I can see it, also on Mac with Safari. On the embedded track above, in the top right corner is a little icon with a down arrow hitting an horizontal line.. It's next to some text saying share.

Putting mouse on it gives a description  "Download"
