Alright all,
This is a bit of a gratuitous thread about my band.
I joined this band last October and last week we went into the studio to do a bit of recording. I thought I'd throw it out there for you guys to have a listen to and see what you think?
As I'm posting it on here and we are all geeky I will detail the very basic gear I used.
Guitar wise it's either a MIM 60's Classic Tele or Sheraton with BKP queens in into two of
@martinw MJW creations (MJW 5e3 Bantam and Standard Roadstar) via a Band of gypsies fuzz face, an old Vox wah and a
@juansolo reverb.
Hopefully we will have the rest of the album finished in time for festival season.
Thanks
Shaun

If I'm honest, found the vocals a bit lacking in character - a bit 'generic' may be....
But I can't sing for toffee - so in no position to judge really.....
@RichardHomer and @GavRichList thank you for your kind words about my playing. It's nervy putting your playing out there on a guitar forum.
Signings a tough gig because it's such a personal thing. I mean some people like the pet shop boys vocal? I'm a fan of our lad (of course) but I respect all opinions. Someone said he sounded like the guy from INXS the other day, I didn't get that. Maybe they know more about his bedroom habits than I do....
My main issue is actually the drums - Perfectly solid but for me very samey all the way through and lacking the kind of dynamics that could really elevate the songs.
Also, I think there are parts where the underlying chord or bass note could be varied a bit more instead of staying on the same note/ chord, just to bring a bit more - again, dynamics to things.
Minor points, as the tracks on the whole sound very good. Put it another way, if I was a venue looking for originals bands to give gig slots to, the demo would be more than enough for me to take a punt on your band.
Thank you for being kind regarding the guitar playing. Like I said before it's a little nervy putting your guitar playing out there on a forum that's has so many fine players.
