I never really paid much attention to Take That or Gary Barlow, but having watched a few clips now, I'm very impressed with his pipes.  Absolutely flawless pitch control.

Who else grabs your attention ?

Lizz Wright & Paula Cole. Alison Krauss is less to my taste but she is more in tune than autotune

He and Robbie are both fantastically musical and have great abilities both at singing and performing. They have been mocked at various times but time has told.
Roland said: Scales are primarily a tool for categorising knowledge, not a rule for what can or cannot be played.
Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.

Loleatta Holloway on Love Sensation (or Ride on Time by black box). Best vocal I've ever heard. I think the acapella is on YouTube, it's just totally stellar.
And you know what else? Those safety lids on bottles of sanatogen. There I am trying to get the lid off and along comes my six year old and says "there you are daddy" and it's off in a Jiffy. Someone's gonna get hurt.

Makes me realise I don't really listen to singers/bands with beautiful voices as I don't think I'd put forward any of my favourite bands.

Maybe Jeff Buckley. Fantastic range and quiet haunting. I think nick drake had quiet a stunning haunting voice too

And in 1975, she was a better drummer than John Bonham

There is an amazing singer called David Phelps that I am a massive fan of. I wouldn't particularly recommend him to others as virtually all his output is Christian, but he really is a divine singer. One particular song - Gentle saviour, this one single note at the end is such a thing of beauty. Incredible.

But yeah, not for everyone from a lyrical point of view.

Don Williams.  Such a 'lived in' voice.  Listen to 'Heart of Hearts' from the album And so it goes.......

Was going to suggest Eva as well. I'll add Sam Cooke, smooth soul & a great delivery.

It isn't a style of music I am a fan of, but Kate Rusby has a beautifully pure voice. Then of course, there's that Prince fella, if you'll forgive me for joining the current bandwagon...

thousands of voices past, and quite a few now, i think are beautiful. and being technically proficient doesn't necessarily make a voice beautiful. sometimes you can sing technically 'badly' but sound stupendous. i like probably half and half.

as for right now today, anna calvi is something special i think. she has an astoundingly beautiful voice that doesn't seem to attract the media attention other far less gifted voices do. she also plays a mean guitar.

jehnny from the savages and lauren from chvrches are another couple of current voices i'm quite into, but they are more in the 'character' than classical 'vocal proficiency' voices class. but still as beautiful.

Lianne La Havas.. oh man her voice is just extraordinary.
This live Nokia sponsered session is just breathtaking... tone, fragility and power all in one song..

Without a shadow of a doubt, for me there isn't anything that sounds better than, or moves me quite like Elizabeth Fraser's voice.
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....
