Hamer Scarab XT - £185 £170 £160 £150! (plus p&p or collected from Nottingham)

This is really good quality guitar from Hamer’s lower priced range. However, it doesn’t skimp on features with an excellent build quality, including a proper set neck.

It features the distinctive modded explorer body shape (as used by Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar and Def Leppard's Rick Savage) which is really well designed and comfortable to play both standing and seated. The body is alder and is accompanied by a maple set neck sporting a rosewood 22 fret fingerboard. 24.75” scale length.

The pickups have been upgraded to a replica of the DImarzio Super 70s (can’t remember the make, but they're not expensive) which sound great for those classic rock / hard rock and metal tones.

The guitar has recently been set up including new strings (10s), fret polish and lemon oil to the f’board, and medium to low action.

The condition is very good – there are a couple of minor indentations, but no chipped paint. The most significant signs of age and use are all the swirls and surface marks in the shiny black finish (there are plenty of these, particularly on the back). There is some oxidisation on the bridge, but no fret wear – this is a really good player.

Comes freshly strung and ready to play including the original Hamer padded gigbag.
