Chord Of The Week 9/7/16 - Church Chords - a Dbadd#11(no root)/G in the key of Ab

bigjonbigjon Frets: 680
Last week we started looking at the chords I used for an orchestral arrangement of How Great Thou Art which was in Ab. For the Ab chord I played Abmaj7(no3rd)/G: xx406x as an arpeggio picking string 3 first, then string 4, then string 2. For the Db chord I used the same picking pattern and the similar shape

Dbadd#11(no root)/G: xx606x

Once again the open G on the 3rd string rings against the Ab on the 4th string a semitone above it in pitch and created a very resonant sustaining sound. There is no root note of Db in the chord. It could be added on the 5th string at fret 4 but I was letting the bass player take care of it.

The next chord I needed was a Bbm chord: can you guess what I played for that?
