Last week we looked at the low D7 x5453x rhythm guitar part during the verse of 'I Feel Good' by James Brown. This week we'll cover the high rhythm guitar D chord for the song's verse, combining it with last week's chord into one amalgamated D7 polychord.

The high rhythm guitar plays a chopped D chord x x 12 11 10 10 on the off-beats, you can hear it at 0:04 in the video below.

The top two strings x x x x 10 10 are enough to convey the gist of the chord, when I play the song in a one-guitar band I map most of the low D7 chord x5453x onto the 6th-to-4th strings as 10 9 10 x x x and play the top two strings x x x x 10 10 on the off-beats, giving me the combined polychord of

D7: 10 9 10 x 10 10
