Wampler Velvet fuzz

I have a hankering for a fuzz pedal and am thinking of getting a Wampler Velvet fuzz, I like what I hear on YouTube but was wondering if anyone on here uses one and what their thoughts are of it? I particularly liked the sound of it twinned with a vibe pedal, there are two clips of it on YouTube twinned with an EQD The Depths pedal which I just happen to have so that's a bonus! 

Edit: I notice on google images that there are a couple of different external designs, are they still the same internally or is one a revised edition?

I have one. Used to use it in my last band to get that Hendrix sound - we did Foxy Lady. Not on my board at the moment as I'm playing a different style, but can recommend.

I've got one. brilliant. 'easier' to use than most fuzzes. Behaves nicely anywhere in the chain but still sounds like a proper fuzz. Great for eric johnson type sounds. works with vol control on guitar as well as any other pedal i've ever used. Love it for that.

I had one, only sold it because it wasn't on my current board and have a Classic 108 for when I need fuzz. 

Howeber I would have one again, and most likely will. Very versatile too. The external differences are the older models had side mounted jacks and clicky switch, the new models have top mounted jacks and silent switch. If buying new I'd be making sure it had the latter.

I was quite interested there till you mentioned 'Eric Johnson type sounds'.

Oh yeah, I know those clips -- which is how I ended up with a Depths and  Velvet!
[But why don't I sound like that bloke now I've got the pedals?!]
Both are great pedals, especially that combination.
And the Velvet is still on my board.  The Depths has been swapped out temporarily for an MXR M68 but tbh the Depths is better (but slightly bigger). 

The Velvet is a very usable, giggable fuzz. 
I doubt you'd regret getting one.

I had one and found both modes really good. To me it had a slightly darker quality than most others I've played, but easy to tweak. @Monquixote had one too I think

Indeed I had one and liked it a lot. 

The "big" mode was virtually unusable live because it's so huge, but the "tight" mode was the best pedal I've ever found for instant one click huge fuzz solo from a very clean amp.

Thanks for the replies chaps, just scored one in the classifieds. That's what I love about this site, you mention you're after certain goods and within the day something pops up! It's happened to me a few times now, still waiting for the white Gibson Explorer with tremolo though

Thanks for the tag I'm really looking forward to pairing it up with my EQD, gonna be a fair few hours of my time taken up! Did you also notice the ltd edition SL Drive? Very tempting price for someone after a MIAB, if I didn't already have one I'd have snapped that up to!

Think they are called zexcoil - the bloke from Texas blues alley uses them.

Gotta say, I had a Velvet Fuzz came today and wow, what a pedal! Hands down amazing fuzz! Love the tight mode! Getting Hendrix, Muse, QOTSA and anything else I throw at it! Happy days and cheers @zepp76 for the recommendation!
