    A bumper crop this month and lots to enjoy. My votes go to:

    5 points @Bellycaster - lots going on, really enjoyed the twin guitar thing
    3 points @spark240 - more subtle twin/harmony guitar and some great lines
    1 point @modellista - very tasteful

    Honourable mentions to @paul_c2 for doing a bass solo and to @ChrisRG who just lost out on points :-) ... but I enjoyed all of them.

    Always tricky to decide! I spent some time going over the tracks again and again due to the closeness in my "scoring". Anyway....

    5 points @Bellycaster - loved the two guitars gracefully mixed together
    3 points @DulcetJones - Nice tone including the use of pinch harmonics
    1 point @spark240 - 2 guitars and good variation in tones

    I had @ChrisRG tied with spark240 but just lost out in the end. Also, I loved the tone of @veganic 's entry but it just missed out too.

    Great to see so many entries.  For me, it was quite close at the top.  In the end I went

    5 points @modellista - Just topped this one.  I liked the smooth playing and there were some great ideas and variation
    3 points @Bellycaster - The 2 guitars sounded great and there were some cool ideas.
    1 point @spark240 - Another 2 guitars track with some great melodies.  Really liked the start.

     @rash just pushed out of the top 3 but I thought the track was great.

  • 5 Points - @modellista - Great structure, well thought out.

     3 Points - @ChrisRG - Nice build up, and again, structure.

     1 Point - @Rash - The call and response thing nearly got you more points, it was a tough call.

    5 points @markv   - I liked the bigger intervals/ arp opening.

    3 points @maxd     - really set a mood.

    1 point @ChrisRG  - groovy.

    Just missed out @paul_c2 - those four notes at 0.40 I've listened to on repeat -ba bip bip boooow.  Thanks for the tone comment.  I've just stuck a Entwhistle Nemesis AGF in the bridge of a budget strat-a-like and couldn't be bothered to wire up the other pickups. It has a weird almost 'quack' to it. Alright for 20 quid.

    Very difficult to decide, a really close set of entries, but in the end I vote:

    5 points: @Modellista
    well developed melody, nice almost funk feel.
    3 points: @ChrisRG
    nice structure, it's the "telling a story" thing which I really like
    1 points: @Bellycaster
    interesting conversation between two parts and I liked it very much. But you know, even though I actually used two guitars in the last competition I kinda think it's called 'solo' of the month not 'duo' of the month so I gave solos more marks.

    Oh, and for me a special mention to @DulcetJones: that fuzz type tone so reminded me of my old 60s Country Joe and the Fish records, with Barry Melton (The Fish) playing guitar.

  • Took a good few listens deciding where my points were going this time. It was so close that on a different day my decision would likely be different too.

    5 points: @Bellycaster ;

    3 points: @modellista ;

    1 point: @rash ;

    Enjoyed a good few others this month too. Congrats to all who submitted a solo.

  • Great to see so many get involved this month and all solos fit well in with the backing.

    It was a tough choice again, the top 3 I've picked are so close together in quality that you wouldn't be able to get a Fag Paper in between them, so just personal taste puts them in order from 1 - 3.

    5 Points @ChrisRG very skillful playing and some lovely chops and note choices, quite "Fusiony" which always floats my boat.

    3 Points @markv Funny thing is that this one grew on me in a short time, didn't put it up there on first listen, but after a couple more, the "attitude" of it was bang on, you played it well, timing and feel nailed it.

    1 Point @spark240 Again another good 'un with neat playing and good tone choice, fitted very well with backing.

  • Lots of great entries. At the top there were 5 that I kept changing my mind about:

    I'm going to go for the following but, as has been stated previously, on a different day my decision might be different.

    5 points: @spark240 Good melodies and it seems to just sit right with the track in terms of playing and level.

    3 points: @Bellycaster There's a Steely Dan kind of thing going on with some nice jazzy lines and harmonies. I think it might be a bit high in the mix though.

    1 point: @modellista Nice phrasing and feel. I like the muted funky lines mixed in with the rest of the solo. Lots of variation.

    The following were very close and could easily have been in my top three on another day:

    markv: you seem to focus on the melody with no flash, more than playing an out and out solo, which I like. It sits well with the backing.

    ChrisRG:  Good sense of melody and feel as usual.

    It's not a competition.
