Going back to basics

Just been going back really basic things recently and its amazing how much more understanding you have the second time around
In my opinion sometimes we try and steam ahead in our playing with sometimes things that are to complicated ...where as using really basic ideas is the way forward used in different combinations..

Totally agree, I love it when that happens. And I wonder if you have to push forwards before you can sink back into the less frenetic, simpler music, to enjoy it properly?
