Billy Ocean causes cramp!

Our band plays Billy Ocean's 'Red Light' but it's turning into a right pain. Literally.

Every time I play it, I get cramp across the bottom of my right foot and it bloody hurts. It doesn't matter when in the set it gets played, unless I've remembered to eat a couple of bananas before hand (for the potassium), that bastard foot cramps up and I end up hopping about like a twat trying to ease it off.

I've only got a couple of pedal taps in the song, so I don't think it has anything to do with tap dancing on my pedal board. There is just something evil lurking in that song. Maybe witchcraft.

Its very annoying as otherwise I love playing that song. Does anyone else have weird issues with a particular song in their set?

Have you considered changing how you play it part way through. So different inversions, maybe fingerpick 8 bars in the second verse. Tap the pedals with alternating feet to stretch your posture a little. Tell us your not crossing necks with the bass player during this song are you, that way leads to insanity!

Tell the band to drop the song and add one you like to the set.

We play that song too. How the hell does it effect your foot? the only fx I use is a Tremelo

Anyway it's in the lyrics i.e. Red Light, Spells danger
