    Can you tell us about the Catswhisker humbuckers? I've not come across them before. Their website says they are all custom wound.

    @revsorg  yes you are right about them all being custom wound to order. It started with an email to Allan (the maker of the pickups) from me about doing some Mike McCready replica humbuckers (ie similar specs to Gibsons custom model), but we chatted and I got some lovely Alnico 4 based pickups with chrome covers.  I think they're slightly underwound to replicate a PAF slightly more than say a more modern, hotter pickup. Very nice chap to deal with and the pickups scream quality as well as sound fantastic. Much more articulate, you can hear the notes ring when doing chord work whereas the Tokai stock pickups were muddy and dark in comparison. They are hand made to order and you can near enough spec what your heart desires.  I'd have no hesitation in buying from him again.
