Unless you want to do software like Amplitude you can't really go wrong with a second hand Zoom G3. Six effects at once if you need them and decent quality amp sounds.

I have a Boss GT001 for sale in the classifieds if that ends up being your choice. Great for desktop stuff. Really small footprint, boss fx. Amp models not bad, but probably Line 6 better if that's the most important thing.

I've got a Kemper which is brilliant.  Those who own a Helix will probably say that, and someone will be along to say AxeFx in a bit.

There are a lot of good options these days.  Some of the cheaper stuff and the software ones are very good if you don't want to spend Kemper/Helix/AxeFx kind of money.

The problem is that there are so many solutions, Bias, Amplitude, Kemper, Helix Axe=Fx etc thats none will be a bad option, you just need to find the one that suits you. My best advice is to ask around and try as many options as possible

I have a POD HD, that is very good, sounds great, and the HD Edit software is good to use. Easy to share patches and that.

Or, get Guitar Rig software, that's ace.

I didn't like Guitar rig, or the other software modellers. They all seem to introduce horrible background noise with any gain.
