Anyone use a cello/viola/violin bow (or similar) on guitar?

What's Hot
there is a moment in our set where I could do this, whilst I am sure things like an ebow make more sense musically I quite
Iike the idea of whacking the strings plus a shed load of delay going on.
Quick google seems to suggest the technique isn't that straightforward, the rosin is necessary but can wreck your strings and the guitar strings wreck the bow. Yet people still do it.
Anyone?

  • Hmmm, cheers all. My one attempt with a theremin consisted mostly of silence so probably won't be that.
