Guthrie Govan metronome help

HootsmonHootsmon Frets: 15960
I have this cat's 2nd guitar tutor book and there is a audio disc included for practice

In an early exercise he plays a C scale, 16th notes at 80BPM, ascending and descending
I am OK with this speed and feel

He then plays the same scale with 32nd notes.... I am NOT OK with this though :)

I am not sure ( don't have a clue) how to approach this exercise to get a handle on the tempo....I need a method /approach to practise and hear this properly so I can find a way in.....am I making sense, any ideas?

I've just had a quick listen. I assume you mean exercise 1.1.

I would play 1/16th notes and increase the metronome setting to try to get to 160bpm, which is equivalent to 1/32nd notes at 80 bpm.

I just had a go and I'm very messy trying to play the exercise at 160bpm . I need to practice more.

Also try playing 1/16th speed on just one note one each string so see if you can get the speed with that exercise first.
    It's not a competition.
