It's certainly much better without Chris Evans. The chemistry definitely isn't there yet but maybe it just needs time.

  • I wish they'd let them go off script a bit. Old top gear was just as bad through its last several seasons, and it made for cringey viewing.

So, when we all got a driverless car, then Top Gear will be presented by Wikipedia...

  • Watching while working - i'm halfway through and it's already significantly better than any of last season.

I have high hopes for the rest of the series.
Same here, I feel its more about the cars than them pissing about. I learnt much more about that Ferrari at the start than I would have done if Clarkson was driving it.

I'm watching it now and enjoying it. There doesn't seem to be that tension there was before. I do wish they could race without hitting each other though.

Missed last weeks so thought I'd tune in this evening. My goodness it's awful, I mean just unwatchable.

It is a bit rough around the edges- mostly the banter sounds very forced.
But I'm still going to watch it, because I like cars.
I wish they did more with bikes.

After 40 minutes it feels like it's been on for about 2 hours.

Truly dull as ditch water. I think I'm going watch that guy's YouTube vid of his guitar collection instead....

A Lamborghini and a 911 in a great location with great camera work, yet it was like watching paint dry, had to turn it off. I'm going to up the pace and watch the Doug and Pat show now.

If they're covering any J J Cale songs, let me know. After TG - I need the adrenaline boost....

Better this week than last I thought. The camaraderie just isn't there though I don't think... whether it'll get there in time is another question.

The studio segments are just awful.  The features are just and only just about bearable.

    2/10. And that's being generous.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

I gave it 10 minutes. I was astounded by how bad it was in the studio. Joey appears to be a complete charisma vacuum.

Slightly better than week 1, but still so dull.

Bad analogy, but if Grand Tour is Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody" then this is the Noel Gallagher cover...superficially similar but with all the life and fun sucked out of it.

I think Matt LeBlanc was better as the sidekick than as the main man.

Chris Harris looks like he's trying too hard at times.

Rory Reid has been good.  I like him.

It's watchable.  It's probably as good as the Clarkson stuff was in the last couple of series.  That was getting a but tired.

I'm going to buck the trend by liking Chris Harris. There are very, very, very few people few can drive a really, really, really fast car properly and deliver a coherent piece to camera describing the experience at the same time, Tiff Needell's (1993?) TG piece on the launch of the McLaren F1 was pretty much the definitive example of this and Chris Harris's segment with the FXX-K last week was the first thing I've seen since then which came close to matching it...
Don't ask me, I just play the damned thing...

Rory is the best of the bunch, he's got a bit of vitality about him. Chris Harris seems a nob who's just barely containing all his pent up rage. Worst of the lot: Joey. I can't get over how useless he is at the studio stuff: how can an actor be SO bad at reading lines off an autocue? It's supposed to be your day job fercrissake!!! On the strength of last night they should get David Tenant in to replace him, at least he was natural and quite funny.
