I ended up selling the body that @iamf68 so beautifully painted, as it began crazing after only a few months, and it wasn't really the look I was after at such an early stage. I replaced it with a body that I ordered from John Manuel, which is inspired by a body that Jooky offered to me. It goes back to my original idea of doing a Cabronita style body, so I'm very happy about that.
I finished the body in Wudtone Olympic Girl, but to be honest I'm disappointed with it, so it's going to be removed at some stage in the near future. It took a very long time and a lot of patience to get the solid-ish white finish, but even after 2 bottles of the stuff, it's still not totally solid in colour and is pretty patchy. To be fair to Andy at Wudtone, he offered me a 3rd bottle for the cost of postage, but I don't like the very pronounced orange peel effect, and that won't go away with further coats, as you really have to slap the Wudtone on to get a solid finish. It certainly isn't a 'wipe-on and it's done finish'.
While the body was nightmareish, the neck kit from Wudtone was pretty easy and only required a bit of patience. I really like the finish and can recommend the neck kits whole heartedly.
As for the bridge, I was tempted to get the Gotoh 12 string jobby to maintain a more Cabronita like look, but then I decided to keep it Jazzmaster/Jaguar like and fit a hardtail plate with a 12 string T-O-M bridge from ABM (a really beautiful bit of hardware).
The pickup is a Jazzmaster humbucker from Mojo.
Anyway, here are some (not so great) photos. It's not finished yet as I'm waiting for a string tree for the final set-up, but you'll get the idea...
