  • I didn't. But only because tomorrow will be warmer still, and I wanna build up my moan.

I'm still complaining about it. It's basically nut soup in my pants.

Yes, it's as unpleasant as it sounds.

  • We gigged twice yesterday the first was in an extension to a pub that was basically a conservatory. We started at 3. It was ridiculously hot. I don't think I've ever sweated so much in my life.

Second gig last night was at a little festival playing on the back of a lorry - it was one of those lovely summers evenings

I complained, but I always complain when it's hot.  I'm consistent.

Nope. Kids decided the didn't, want anything to do with dad, so me and the wife took the MG out, top down, country roads and a stop off in a little forest :0)
    Cheeky bit of dogging eh?
Well it was only two of us, just a bit of alfresco fun ;0)
I'm certain if the kids knew their absence was facilitating that they would have happily spent the entire day with you...

Anyway back to the heat - does anyone know if I should be watering my veggies if this hot dry weather persists all week?

Im guessing potatoes don't need much intervention but the other stuff might.

Damn straight. Spent the weekend tracking vocals in a room full of acoustic panels, super sweaty.

Struggled yesterday and the heat gave me a migraine...better day today. Still hot AF, was mid-20s at half 7 this morning when I went for a run. Then headed out to the local quarry for an open water swim session which was thoroughly enjoyable.

It hit 49C here yesterday. Y'all need to man up.
    Forty nine.  FORTY NINE?????!!!!!!

I'll bet you spent all of it in a nice air-conditioned 21C though.

Me too.  I hate humid heat and today we got lots.  Same yesterday.  My favourite weather is cold dry and for playing golf, cold dry with a strong wind.  Makes me come alive...

I thought yesterday was hot but today was that sticky, humid heat.  Blegh

My sister has a little paddling pool in her back garden and I had visions of me doing this:

Ever since spending a week mountainbiking in the alps in 35C, with it dropping to a cool 25C at night, I can handle whatever this country can throw at me.

Make sure to water the roots @Iamnobody, avoid the leaves as water droplets on leaves exposed to harsh sunlight act as little magnifier glasses. Tomatoes sulk like crazy in this weather if there's not enough water on the roots.

If you have a greenhouse limewash the glass or use Summer Cloud on the panes to reduce the heat getting through. Mind you, with all that, it was still 100F in my greenhouse today!

I've given up on my greenhouse.  All I ever managed to grow in it was a load of tomatoes that all got blight.  Now it's a very hot shed for storing crap.  I had visions of it being some tropical paradise with blooms and fruits abundant, but it's just a glass shed.

    I complained. A lot.

I was driving, in a car with a black leather interior and barely functioning air conditioning.

It is just too fucking hot, sorry. I'm fine with it when I'm abroad and lounging around but when I'm here, I'm working and doing things, and it is too hot to do anything without needing to complain at least a bit.
