The much misunderstood Sonus SC50. A single channel 212 combo designed and built by hifi enthusiasts in Scotland. These were mega expensive when they came out.
It's 50w powered by a pair of KT88's and two ECC83. Yep, it's had the piano black top sprayed in blue sparkle. The top was marked when I got it from having had something stood on top of it so I had it filled and sprayed.
I bought it as new old stock and as such it's in a great condition. I do have an instruction manual for it as well as some promotional material from the launch of these.
The controls are indented so have a number of 'clicks' as you move them around. The mid control acts as a global shaping control which changes how the treble, bass and gain work with it. It's a master volume so you can get a great drive/lead sound from it and it cleans up well using the guitar volume.
Tons of headroom if you set it clean so will work well as a pedal platform.
It's a big sod as well. I've put a pic up with a '94 Twin in front of it so you can see what you're getting yourself into. Sorry, pics are rubbish in the unlikely event someone wants this I'll put some better pictures up!
£500
Now a ridiculous £450
And now £350. Yep £350.
Come on, this was a £2500 amp when new, surely worth a punt at this price.

(NOW SOLD) Egnater Armageddon 4 x12 it's quite a compact cab and is in excellent condition as well
With castors. Awesome thing, fitted with an led strip for 'awesome' stage lighting or home mood lighting! Well it seemed like a good idea at the time, leds have a remote control so you can set the colour, brightness, strobe, flash, fade etc etc. And it doesn't introduce any hum when you're playing through it.
Now £250

what does it sound like....is it good, is it great ?!?
I probably couldn't justify having this (and such a decent price as well) but just knowing that they are still out there - didn't it get a 'gold' mark from Guitarist magazine when it came out ?
Others experience may differ of course!
It it also has a flat setting which takes pedals really well. I've had a pod II into the front end and it sounds massive, really spreads the sound out too being V fronted. The speakers are some kind of Celestions I think.
Its also pretty much silent at idle too no matter where the volume and gain is set.
Best of all it still sounds good at really quiet volume.
I couldnt justify it either either but wanted it as I remember reading the guitarist review years ago but can't find a copy of it.
I have found an old issue from the 1990's that had the advert in.
I'll put up the sales brochure and instruction manual as pics this weekend as I've never seen them anywhere else.
Just a few guys trying to do something different/innovative which wasn't embraced by the guitar community as a whole as we're all pretty traditional at heart (Gibson RD/Firebird X anyone?).
I personally love the look of it but I also lust after Parker Flys and Gus guitars, so that means I'm probably sick in the head.
