I've got a
Boardman Comp 650B from the Halfords - despite the retailer it's really impressed me, the frame is very light and its been an excellent starter bike for me.
However, it's become evident that its actually too small for me.
Based near Chester, regularly ride Llandegla.

After the (extensive!) research I've done, it seems that if you get a hard tail with a very dialled geometry it mitigates the lack of rear shock. The Whyte bikes get such raving reviews, as well as the Scout, the Honzo - some people have sold full sussers because they like them so much. Resting hopes on that...
