I bought my SG in 2010 off the old MR forum. Its been through a fair few changes over the time I've owned it but I've never been happy with the finish. So off to the lovely Rich Rendall (aka @lamf68 of this parish) it went for a refinish in Pelham Blue nitro. I have to say I'm knocked out by the quality of the job Rich has done, especially given how reasonable his rates are. I'm more than happy, apparently the original (Wudtone?) finish was a bitch to remove properly and kept breaking through the sealer coats, but the overall result is stunning thanks to his work.

That P Blue looks ultra cool
For anyone vaguely interested: The guitar started life as a 2000 Gothic SG. Originally it would've been solid black with all black hardware and open humbuckers. It had a headstock break at some point and the owner did a piss poor repair, including "repainting" the cracked paintwork with a black felt tip pen!! It changed hands somewhere round this time and the guy I bought it off then did a decent repair job on the headstock, replacing the headstock veneer and stripping it all back to bare wood and refinishing it with some sort of brown rub-on stain. The pickups acquired chrome covers and all the hardware was changed over to chrome, including a harmonica bridge and Grovers.
I then bought it. Over the years I've swapped the bridge to a Gotoh one, fitted a set of Mojo HB sized P90's and had the nut replaced with a bone one. It sounds great, but it look even better now. One happy bunny!

Superb finish & my poor mobile phone pic doesn"t do it justice.
Very reasonable price & highly recommended.
That colour... man that colour is stunning
It turned out Rich was just down the road from me.
