Are you trying it over Bluetooth, or via a cable?
I'm not sure if Skoda supports BT CarPlay or not as I don't have one.

Connected by cable - how else can you do it. You can't connect it with Bluetooth.

it supports CarPlay, it has the icon on the audio menu, does android auto too which is supposed to be better

@thorpyfx how do you connect through wifi?

Dunno, just that my car creates a wifi network and the phone connects to it that way.

Some can, some can't- it depends on the implementation.

You connect, head to Spotify and it just gets locked a cycle of flicking between your library and the track you want to play

It will sit just loading a track from your library

    Audible is the same

Funilly enough -Apple music is ok but really really slow to skip between tracks

and really there are bugger all apps you can use

Try doing a reset on iPhone, don't wipe any data, just reset settings.

We've had a lot of issues with non genuine cables.

Id try a hard reset on your phone and set the car back to factory settings and just try the phone connected via the cable don't pair up Bluetooth and make sure your phone/apps are upto date.

It's the Spotify app that's the problem. Apple Music works flawlessly but Spotify is absolutely wank on it.

I suspect Apple have deliberately made it as difficult as possible for Spotify to integrate properly with it.

Funnily enough I've had a new iPhone delivered today.

I connected it to my wifi network, downloaded the latest version of iOS and installed the back-up from iCloud.

    It works perfectly....

They do - so long as you never veer from the path marked Apple. Don't get me wrong, I'm a total apple fanboy, but this just grinds my gears. Apple Music isn't as good as Spotify imho by some margin otherwise I'd use that instead
