I fail to see the issue here - he's got the money to spend and has used some of it towards a rather nice caravan/shed type thing that's hand built in the UK.

Good on him. I think it looks great and it's very tasteful. I don't begrudge people having money

As far as I know he's not a criminal .
Well educated ,Oxbridge background .....good for him .......perfectly decent chap although not especially interesting as a prime minister .
If he wants to play weekend Pikeys and pay over the top to do so that's his business. I think it's rather quaint.

Not sure I see why this is being touted as "rich bloke spends excessive amount on frivolous purchase"

Would the Grauniad have written an article if he'd have spent his £25k on a 5 year old Porsche Boxster, or, heaven forbid, on a run of the mill standard caravan? I saw a grandfather clock in an antiques shop last week that wasn't far off the same amount. 

Imagine the shock and horror if the ex-PM had spend twice that amount on a nice new two berth motorhome, or four times the amount on a run-of-the-mill production 35ft yacht. 

I think we have all forgotten just how much stuff costs these days. "Man who ran country for a bit spends some money - the equivalent of buying a mid-spec Ford Mondeo"
