Yeah. I think the main thing is to get away from the "Klingons of Thrones" bits. I had assumed they were trying explain how the Klingons lost their ridges but that seems to have gone quiet for now. In any case I'm fine with a couple of episodes on it, but just want more of Pike & co doing stuff with new people and exploring new places (without motorbikes and the Beastie Boys, please)

Episode 9 enjoyed it.  Still think Burnham could be a slightly more interesting character tho.  Spock should not have a beard

 Catching up on this now. Thought they over-egged the pudding a lot by having the whole "ending so shocking we can't even have title music" schtick for the departure of an incidental character we've had pretty much no reason to care about.

If all the bridge crew- Ms funny eye, robot girl, black dude, big hair black lady- are meant to be supporting characters that we care about as much as we do Burnham, Pike, Tilly, Stamets or Saru then the show isn't working as well as it thinks it is. 

Mrs_bob's a bit of a Trek n00b, and her standing complaint about the show is all the mile-a-minute science bullshit about warp cores and magnets and tractor beams that they yell at each other when they're trying to come up with a plan to defeat the latest alien gribblies. I haven't got the heart to tell her that stuff is about as Star Trek as it comes.

Just watched it myself and enjoyed it.

Seemed fairly conclusive but apparently season 3 has already been confirmed.

I'm willing to put good money on them doing a separate Pike/Enterprise series at some point as well.
