So's my girlfriend, she's driven it more than me at the moment. :(

Awesome. The newer Jaguars really look sublime. I did in fact nearly buy a '55 plate X-type 2.0 Diesel Sport the same day, before the Mondeo but the service I was receiving from the Vauxhall main dealer caused me to cancel.

Very nice. I loved the XF I tried.

Cheers. You realise the X type is basically a Mondeo with a different (worse!) bodyshell. You did the right thing getting the Ford :)

Though the X-type interior (on the higher trims, at least) was lovely.

Indeed, a Mk3 Mondeo I believe. I was beguiled by the lashings of leather and very well maintained body.  It looked great and felt amazing to sit behind the wheel. Very aspirational compared to the Mondeo it was built on too. Never like the Mk3 shape so having better (to me) styling of the Jaguar was abonus. Glad I got the Mondeo in the end though.

His was the bigger model ( XJ?). I'm hoping XF's don't have the same fondness for fire. Mine's a 3L diesel anyway, diesel doesn't burn as well. >:D<

Thanks. My g/f describes it as driving a cloud. Certainly the best riding car I've ever owned. It does handle well too but I'm still a bit nervous of chucking such a big car into corners
