I feel like a lot of black Strats are really dull but occasionally something magic happens ^^^

(Am I right in remembering you spend some extra time on finessing the contours? I suspect that might be why yours always look top notch)

I think I don’t mind black (sometimes) because I use my aged plastics on them. I think that helps, but I’m so strange about black on guitars. Ask me tomorrow and I’ll love them.. ask me again and I might be a bit “meh”. 

And yes, absolutely - all contoured bodies are re done one at a time

It turned out beautifully and tbh I probably should have just done it “aged” to start with. The flake bodies are pretty spectacular once they’ve been given the 60+ year old treatment.
