My first update in almost a year (!) Adding a germanium Fuzz Face Mini and a little silicon Fuzz Face clone in front of the CS-1

How d'you get on with your Freeze @dogload? What do you use it for?
@Placidcasual79 ;I use it for drone effects mainly. I can get it to do a half-acceptable tambura or I sometimes use it to provide a fuller 'pad' effect. it does one thing, but it can be quite flexible. I can't remember what setting I use - I think it's 'Latch' where you hit the switch and it just stays on that till you hit the switch again.

Super bastard box of loud was given to me by a work mate. It's basically 2 stackable fuzzes in one box with a glitch switch for some really horrible gated sounds. Apparently it has 9 gain stages and has been known to damage amps.

I know some like my rig updates and some LOL at them....

So some of you are lucky and some of you haven't been so lucky.....

    Here's the latest

IN: Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe (and how good is that)
ThorpyFX Veteran (the best fuzz I have ever heard
    Lazy J20
    Princeton

    Out:
    G2
    Blackcat

Note- I spent hours trying to work out where the vibe should go- answer, before dirt. It knocks any other vibe into the ocean, believe me.

I didn't get on with the voodoo vibe at all. But it does have a good rep.

Well...lots to say here as a newbie Yank:

    > Can I have a few of those orange Tortex you've got there? I'm down to 1,997 in my stable and feeling a little anxious.

    > Tube Driver rocks. Such a fine device. I called him once to ask his opinion of the Real Tube rack vs floor stomp. He preferred the latter. Still got it.

    > I take it that the Black Cat dropped was the Vibe. Never heard the Voodoo live but the Cat's really nice. Voodoo must be serious.

    > Got a few in there I've never heard of but, all and all, that's a beautiful rig. Nice Strat. What's in that?

@Gassage Lovely rig as usual, James. I'd love to hear it sometime. Interesting that you found you like the Voodoo Vibe likes before the dirt but, personally, I've always found that I prefer any mods to go after dirt. Mick Taylor did something on vibes on That Pedal Show and I preferred the "after" tone every time:

    In order;

    LOL!

if you look at the rack below, there's a Pete Cornish Tube Overdrive- thats incredible in that genre.

    In another league vibewise.

Strat: 1964 Sonic Blue, refinned neck and refretted.

    @vasselmeyer

Here's a thing- blackcat sounded better after.
Voodoovibe is much clearer, much more detailed and works miles better up front.
No idea why, but I always believe in letting your ears do the building

    Big ol' quotes above:

    > Tube Driver: Yep. That's why I mentioned the Tube Driver. Excellent (EXCELLENT) pedal. I mentioned Butler because he's the original designer. That's why his name is on the bottom. No knock on Cornish. His stuff speaks for itself. But there was a big flap over that particular pedal for a while.

    > Strat: DUDE! Serious gear envy and respect!!

    > Totally with you on effects placement. It's all about what you hear.

    > Picks: got so many. Tortex I'm actually into the blue lately. Even more into the emerald green V Picks nowadays, though. Nice new find.

Pete is a BK innards rebuilt, PC buffered, line level (XLR to rack) with a parallel mix inside. It was made for Joan Armatrading- one of 3- the other two are in Gilmour's all tube boards.

    Oops!

I missed it, as my thought process stopped on the large letter "C". I was thinking Chandler on that Tube Driver. Not Cornish. Big mistake on my part and pardons requested. Having a Cornish set up in that Driver must be incredible!

Recent acquisitions include the Snouse BB2 (lovely low gain drive - credit to @colourofsound for inciting some GAS) and the ARC Soothsayer (which I have discovered can peel paint at 50 paces).

    Signal chain:
Yamaha SG2000 > TC Polytune 2 > ARC Soothsayer > Visual Sound VS-XO right side (808-ish) > Snouse BB2 > VS-XO left side (ODR-1-esque) > Ramble FX Marvel Drive > EQD Warden > Source Audio Programmable EQ > Hardwire CR-7 > Source Audio Nemesis > TC HoF > David Rolo Twin Peaks Trem > Victory V40 > Zilla vertical 2x12 (loaded with WGS ET-65 + WGS Reaper HP)

VS-XO is running at 12V and Marvel Drive at 18V, to get a bit more headroom and openness.

I've got about twice as many drives as I strictly *need* ... but they're a lot of fun :)
