Yeah man. It's really nice to play but I do wish it had proper fret markings!! Might be a modification worth exploring actually. Hmmm.

I can't quite get used to the bridge though. I really really like a tune-o-matic bridge for palm muting. Really comfortable to play with those. The Wilkinson one on the ML-1 feels a little too low for my left hand. Not a massive problem, just requires a little bit of adjustment.

I took the middle pickup out, and replaced the bridge with a Seymour Duncan TB-6 and a SJBJ pickup in the next. Coil tap on both.

WezV Stratele

This is a custom made Strat with a Tele upper bout. It still has the gut cut and Strat contours, but not the top cut. The bridge is a cut down full sized Tele item. Pups are BKP; bridge is an old BG50 (which is now a known as a 52), middle and neck are Irish Tours. Switching is Tele on positions 5&4 ( B / B+N ) and Strat from then on ( M / M+N / N ), wired with a Fender SuperSwitch.

It's massively versatile. It really does give the best of both worlds to someone like me that likes the back end of a Tele and front of a Strat, and just wished something like that existed that I could buy. It could have been a complete dogs dinner, we had no idea when I asked Wez to build this what it'd turn out like. But it is absolutely bloody brilliant in every respect.

Fender Baja Telecaster (somewhat modified)

This one has evolved. Sometimes involuntarily... As mentioned above I'm not particularly keen on Tele neck pups (or Strat bridge ones for that matter), so even though the Baja's standard set is actually pretty good. It was inevitable it was gonna go. Also going was the S1 switching as I like simplicity.

As it seemed impossible to get a single ply 5 hole humbucker pickguard and I wasn't so keen on routing it myself, I sent the body over to Jon at Feline. They did a cracking job of the routing and guard. I dropped a BKP BG50 (the later one this time) and unpotted Mule in the neck, in the process accidentally turning it into a Keef fanboy guitar or there abouts.

All was good, then I threw it onto a concrete drive smashing the poly in several places and making a proper mess of it. At that point I thought I was going to need to re-body it so thought I'd have a go at stripping the poly myself. It came off surprisingly well and the wood wasn't bad. So I refinished it with oils and wax. The resulting guitar is shockingly lighter (there was 1/2lb of poly coat on it!), more resonant, and a hell of a lot classier looking.

TVMaster (partsocaster)

I got the TeleMaster (as it was) from AndrewW of the BKP forum in exchange for a couple of pedals. I just thought it's got a nice neck on there (from a Mexi Classic 50's Strat) and some useful bits and pieces, so would make a nice project guitar. The first thing I did was pull the pup and bridge and route the body for a TV Jones Powertron Plus pickup. Which is marvellous. 

However this is currently sat over at Wez's in the queue as it's just too heavy for my liking and it irritates me that the body isn't quite the correct shape. So it's going to be re-bodied. It's possibly going to get a neck pup also, but I haven't quite decided on that yet... We shall see!

Thanks mike_l , it's a ST III and might be up for sale soon, I did have a Snakeskin Gunslinger, it was a bass, I sold it to a friend and now he won't sell it back :-(
